A Few of My Favorite Things

The holidays are right around the corner and, if you’re like me, you still haven’t finished up your shopping. Also, if you’re like me, you’re completely stuck for ideas as to what to buy!

Never fear! I recently asked the Sisters in our private Facebook group The Sisterhood at Wrong Turn at Albuquerque what their favorite things were, and together we’ve compiled a list to share with you! And, just to make it that much easier for you, if you see something you like, just click the pic to purchase!

sheetsAmazing sheets were a favorite and, I have to admit, are a bonus to me, too! Nothing beats sliding into a bed with heavenly sheets! Well, maybe sliding into a bed with heavenly sheets and freshly shaved legs. Mmmmm… Our pick for sheets that are truly amaze-balls AND super affordable are those by Clara Clark. 1800 thread count and around $30 for a set (depending on size). They have LOTS of great colors to choose from, too!

robeWrapping up in something cozy was mentioned a few time, and who doesn’t love to cozy up in a great bathrobe? Personally, I love a full length robe, too, because who wants chilly legs while the rest of you is warm? This full length robe from Arus gets great reviews from customers and comes in a variety of colors. It’s made of Turkish cotton so you can put it on straight out of the shower, and it’s like wrapping up in a giant towel. They even sell matching memory foam slippers!

instapotIf you’re a gal that loves to cook, we know you’ve already heard about the wonders of the InstaPot. And let’s face it, even if you don’t like to cook, the InstaPot is pretty much a must have in your kitchen! Seriously, what can’t you do with an InstaPot? It can be used as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, yogurt maker, rice cooker, etc. Need something steamed, sauteed, warmed? Boom! Your InstaPot has you covered. How did we ever live without one?

Puzzled earringsMy dear Gram had a habit of making up silly words for those more ordinary. Earrings? Those are a dime a dozen. But dingledaubers? Now that’s something special, and so are these laser cut beauties from Ruth McCabe Desgins! Made from your choice of two different colors (7 options) of lightweight Baltic birch, each pair is handcrafted upon receipt of your order. They come in two different sizes and your choice of metal as well.

slippersKnow someone with perpetually cold feet? (insert me raising my hand high) For years I searched high and low for the perfect slippers. Ones that would keep my feet WARM without making them all sweaty because, hello, now my feet are wet and just feel colder. Then I discovered felted wool slippers. They are magic sent from the gods, I tell you! And I think that good slippers should inspire a bit of whimsy, too, so I love these 3-dimensional butterfly slippers. Made from locally sourced wool in Lithuania, these slippers are made to order by hand in a family studio to your size and color specifications.

wax warmerMany Sisters brought up various scents that were their favorites, and I admit, I’m a sucker for a smell that transports me to a place other than home now and then. I like this warmer for it’s compact size, but I also love the silhouette of trees that wrap around it. Drop your favorite wax melt in or just add some drops of your favorite essential oil. It’s perfect for any room in the house or even your office!

mugAnd, finally, something warm to drink in a favorite mug was brought up more than a couple of times. I have to agree. There’s something about settling in with a good cup of tea or coffee that washes away some of the stress of the day. I think it tastes even better in a really great mug, too. At Wrong Turn at Albuquerque, we’ve got you covered when it comes to great mugs. While we have a several Albuquerque-isms to choose from, this is one of our favorites. It’s available in the standard size as shown as well as a tall and travel version.

I hope this gives you some ideas for those special people on your list this year.
